You asked for it, we listened and acted!
San Antonio Skate Sharpening proudly announces the start of the Skate Exchange Program. That's right -- just like the shops back up north and across the border do it, you now have a place here in San Antonio where you can pick up a new pair, drop off a previously used pair, or trade-up your skates as your kids (or you) grow and need larger sizes or a different style.
Don't spend hundreds of dollars on new pairs of skates when your kids will outgrow them in a season (or less!). And don't rely on guessing the right size by ordering through the internet when you can try them on instead. Check out the inventory of both quality pre-owned and closeout-stock new skates we have at the shop and save a bundle. And we'll include the initial sharpening too!
The Skate Exchange is just one more way San Antonio Skate Sharpening and the San Antonio Ice Rink Project are working hard to grow the sport here in South Texas. By providing access to reasonably priced equipment for both the aspiring player and the seasoned veteran, we support our hockey community and we all win. And remember, proceeds go towards growing the sports of Hockey and Figure Skating here in our local community. Thanks for your support!

Not all skates on this page may be available when you arrive, but there may be others that aren't yet listed.Skates for turn-in must be in good shape, serviceable, with no obvious defects (missing rivets, broken blade holder, torn ankle support, etc). Normal signs of wear are (of course) acceptable and expected, but we can only accept a pair of skates that someone else will be able to use safely and effectively. Turn in what you would expect to receive in return! Due to the simple model of this program, we cannot offer more or less trade-in value for a pair of skates. All acceptable turn-ins are credited at $10.00. You are encouraged to try on a pair of skates before you commit to them. Once you leave the shop, they're yours until you turn them back in under the pricing schedule above (free exchange).
