The Flat Bottom V (FBV) skate sharpening is very different than what you are use to getting on your skates. The FBV has a flat bottom and the edges are slightly higher. So when gliding, you are on the flat which gives you awesome speed, but when you turn and lean the skates, the edges then dig in giving you great turning. So for example, you can achieve the glide equivalent to a 2" hollow, yet at the same time, the turning capacity of a 3/8-1/2" hollow. How cool is that! 4 Easy Steps to "Git 'er Done":1. Decide which Flat-Bottom V cut you want. Descriptions of the available cuts are located under the "Flat Bottom V cuts" tab to the left. 2. Drop your skates off with the receptionist at The MPS Group lobby, 12020 Warfield Drive (directions and times are under the "Find Us" tab to the left). She'll give you a tag to fill out with your name, contact information, cut size desired, and date dropped off, and collect your payment (cash only please, this keeps our costs down to be able to offer the service at the rate we do!) 3. We'll sharpen your skates (within 72 hours after drop-off, often times sooner) and send you an email or text message letting you know your skates are finished & ready for pick-up. 4. Pick up your skates at the same location and enjoy! |
 PricingOur pricing is very straightforward and competitive, and is provided as a service to the local skating community here in San Antonio. Profits directly benefit our youth hockey organizations and the San Antonio Ice Rink Project (SAIRP). Standard sharpening services Our committed turn-around time is 48 hours (2 days) from the time of drop-off, however they are often completed and ready for pick-up within 12 to 24 hours. If you provide an email address and/or mobile phone number on your service tag at drop-off, we'll notify you immediately when your skates are done!
